Nominations for Members of the Executive Committee
This Year’s Annual General Meeting will be held at Crockham Hill Village Hall on Tuesday 24th July 2018 commencing at 2pm and a formal notice has been issued above. At that meeting, amongst the usual standard matters, the Executive Committee to serve for 2018/19 will be appointed.
Details of the existing roles in the Executive Committee are set out on the website and if you feel that you would like to put yourself forward either this year or in the future why don’t you speak to one of the existing committee members or contact them by phone or email to find out what is involved? Their details also appear on the website.
At least two Executive Committee members are standing down this year. Therefore, if you are interested in serving but would like to learn more about the responsibilities before committing yourself, arrangements can be made for you to sit in in on one or more committee meetings. Again all you need to do is to contact a committee member.
Alternatively if you know a member who you think would be a positive contributor to the committee, why don’t you pass on his or name to a committee member (having got the member’s permission first!). That member will then be contacted and the matter discussed with him/her.
According to the current Constitution, a maximum of ten members may serve on the Executive Committee but a proposal will be put forward at this year’s Annual General Meeting to increase this to twelve. If more than the maximum permitted number put themselves forward then a vote will take place to choose those to serve.
For a nomination to be valid it must be submitted at least 28 days before the AGM and proposed and seconded by non committee members of Edenbridge U3A. The nominated person must be a current member of Edenbridge U3A.
If you are interested in putting yourself or a colleague forward this year please submit the relevant nomination form by 26th June 2018 to:
Mr Colin Fairman
27 Orchard Drive
